Introduction of school
Founded in 1966, MODE GAKUEN College of Fashion & Design is one of Japan’s largest professional schools, with branches in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Paris. In the fields of fashion, design, business, interiors, graphics, makeup, and beauty, we have developed curricula in partnership with companies, and offer special lectures delivered by experts on the front lines of the industry. We have prepared a leading-edge environment for learning to develop professionals from novices.
We also have depth in support for finding employment. Our graduates have been given the highest ratings thanks to practical education reflecting the human resource needs in each field, and to our guidance for employment. We have also prepared an environment for producing creators who can be active on the worldwide stage, as exemplified by our instatement of a system for study abroad at the MODE GAKUEN CREAPOLE in Paris.

MODE GAKUEN has been accredited by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a professional school for high-quality education for international students. Graduation is advantageous for job-hunting, because examinations for visas are on the same level as for university graduates, for example. Students are also reassured by the Skill-Up Course for improvement of proficiency in the Japanese language.

For those who wish to find employment, our employment guidance instructors provide solid one-to-one assistance in everything from how to write a resume to rehearsals for interviews and preparation of portfolios.
International students graduating from MODE GAKUEN are steadily finding employment in Japan with big-name fashion firms such as Yohji Yamamoto, ISSEY MIYAKE, Comme des Garcons, CHANEL, and CELINE to companies in the beauty field such as Shiseido, L'Oréal Japan, GIVENCHY, and M·A·C.

The Cocoon Tower was chosen as one of the ten most attractive school buildings in the world by EMPORIS. The interior is equipped with all sorts of facilities befitting the birth of creators for the new age. It includes the expansive creation room with a ceiling two stories high, a photography studio, a shop practice room enabling simulation of in-store sales and displays, etc. All of the rooms have an advanced design using white, black, and red as the underlying tones.
